How do I ground my shielded patch panel?Updated 3 hours ago

Shielded patch panels can be bonded to ground using two methods. Typically, rack-mounted shielded patch panels are grounded via the provided green bond wire, which connects to the Rack Busbar (RBB). The rack itself is then bonded to the Secondary Busbar (SBB) of the telecommunications room. This constitutes a formal bonding infrastructure, serving as an extension of the AC grounding system. In the absence of this capability, the most suitable alternative involves utilizing trueCABLE’s truePLUG Bond & Ground Extension Adapter. This adapter replaces the short bond wire included with the shielded patch panel, enabling a direct connection to AC ground through a three-prong AC outlet. For wall-mounted shielded patch panels, particularly in residential settings, the truePLUG accessory is generally the sole viable option.
