What is the minimum AWG size for a "ground" wire?Updated 4 hours ago
In commercial telecommunications and equipment rooms, the minimum bonding conductor size is 6 AWG stranded, with green insulation (or other color featuring green markings), in accordance with NEC/NFPA 70 and relevant standards recommendations.
An exception applies to bonding to the rack busbar within the rack itself, where equipment may be pre-supplied with bonding conductors specifically for this purpose. However, bonding from the Rack Busbar (RBB) to the Secondary Busbar (SBB) or Primary Busbar (PBB) must still be executed using 6 AWG or thicker stranded bonding conductors.
For projects outside the scope of this statement, the NEC/NFPA 70 and a qualified electrician should be consulted.
