Should I use a spool of trueCABLE bulk Ethernet cable and a package of your connectors to make patch cables?Updated 4 months ago

This is the least reliable way to terminate Ethernet. It is not recommended to hand terminate solid copper Ethernet with 8P8C (aka RJ45) connectors at both ends for a myriad of reasons. Chief among these reasons are lack of cable flexibility, poor durability of the terminations, and impedance mismatch that leads to performance loss.

For these reasons, it is wise to purchase factory pre-made and pre-tested patch cords. That said, you may make a "direct attach" cable using solid copper Ethernet when terminated with Category rated field termination plugs. Field termination plugs impedance match, provide very durable terminations, and provide “male” connectors at both ends. The trade-off is field termination plugs cost more and are physically larger than 8P8C plugs.
